FAQs
How long does a furnace and A/C last?
Average life expectancy is 10-15 years depending on how you maintain the system.
How often should I change my furnace filter?
This depends on the usage of the home, typically every 3 months or less.
How often should I have my furnace and A/C serviced?
Twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
What type of furnace filter should I use?
Use a standard pleated Merv 8 filter, high allergen/pollen filters are not recommended, the high allergen filters do catch smaller particles, but the majority of the time restrict the airflow of the furnace system too much which causes problems with overheating in the winter months and icing up of the a/c system during the summer months. If indoor air quality is a concern of yours call a local HVAC company to find ways to solve this problem as there are many options available to accomplish this without restricting the airflow of the system.
Why do I have low airflow?
Check and replace your furnace filter regularly to ensure it is not dirty and clogged restricting airflow, have your system cleaned and serviced twice a year, and wash your outdoor unit coils at least once a year.
Why is my thermostat blank?
Check your thermostat batteries, if you are unsure of how to do this call a local HVAC company for service/help
